New Training Center offers select courses to private colleges & universities

The Claremont University Consortium has announced the creation of a training arm of its organization, designed to bridge a current gap in available training and development for private college and university public safety agencies.  The Regional Campus Safety Training Center ("RCSTC") offers a limited but high-quality content driven series of courses that include Basic Dispatcher Course, Field Training Officer Course, the Leadership Learning Bureau, and Relationship Violence training.

While these BSIS-certified courses are currently designed and made available at no cost to private colleges and universities not currently eligible for POST-certified programming and training, the RCSTC does plan to continue to make additional courses available into the future as law enforcement agency-status is established by private higher education departments when Assembly Bill 2361 (Penal Code Section 830.75) takes effect January 1, 2017.

Interested agencies serving private college and university campuses are encouraged to visit http://www.RCSTC.org.
