Fuller Theological Seminary Campus Safety Celebrates 1 year anniversary

This month, Fuller Theological Seminary Campus Safety Department celebrated the completion of its first year of exemplary service to the Fuller Campus.

Led by Campus Safety Chief Gary Mejia, the Campus Safety Department has added new service tools to protect and serve the student, faculty and staff as well as the guests to the campus.  These features include:

  • The expansion of the Department staff, now 20 members strong
  • Vehicle patrol, transportation and escort services
  • Expanded Security Camera systems
  • And the successful application and award of FEMA and UASI grants that will additional enhance security programs and tools to protect the campus community

Stan Skipworth named “Director of the Year” by Campus Safety Magazine

On Monday, July 25th, CCUPCA’s own Stan Skipworth, Director of Campus Safety at The Claremont Colleges, was named Campus Safety Magazine’s “Director of the Year” for Higher Education.  The award was presented by CSM Editor Robin Hattersley Gray during the first day the annual Campus Safety Conference East, at the Gaylord Resort in National Harbor, Maryland.  Others awarded this prestigious honor were Lisa Terry, University of North Carolina Health Care’s director of hospital police and transportation for the Health Sector; and Kevin Wren, Rock Hill (S.C.) Schools’ director of campus security systems, representing K-12 systems.

2016 marked the second consecutive year a CCUPCA member was honored by Campus Safety Magazine, with Biola Chief John Ojeisekhoba receiving the award last year, also for the Higher Education sector.
