2019 Updates

July 15, 2019

Shortly before breaking for Summer Recess, the Senate Judiciary Committee passed Assembly Bill 302. In its current form, AB 302 provides that if a community college has parking facilities, homeless students will be allowed access overnight for the purpose of sleeping.

 

July 1, 2019

The Legislature now returns to its regular Legislative business, having enacted the 2019-2020 Budget with Governor Newsom last week.  The last day for policy committees to meet and report bills will be July 12, after which the Legislature will go on a one-month summer hiatus.

 

June 17, 2019

The big news for CCUPCA is that this budget contains $5 million for funding and infrastructure to our sponsored bill. Assembly Bill 1499 was converted into a direct budget allocation that, upon approval, will effectively enact AB 1499 into law.
